If you want to put a little something extra in a letter you send to a loved one, now you can stamp that letter with a tribute to our 16th president.
The United States Postal Service unveiled a brand-new second-ounce postage stamp featuring a black-and-white photograph of a statue of Abraham Lincoln.
Officials from USPS say they came all the way to Springfield for the unveiling because they couldn’t think of a better place or a better day for a dedication ceremony.
“It’s absolutely a perfect time, being his birthday today, February 12, as well as in this historic building right across from a beautiful museum, right down the street from where he practiced law,” Jeffrey Williamson of the U.S. Postal Service said.
You can now purchase the Lincoln stamp at your local post office.
