Don’t Forget! – PostalOne!® Mandatory Software Update This Weekend

The USPS® is issuing a MANDATORY software update for the PostalOne! production system this weekend. This update will be implemented on Sunday, January 7, 2018. The PostalOne! Production (PROD) system will not be available during this update process, on Sunday morning January 7, 2018 from 12:01 AM to 10:00 AM CT. PostalOne! will then be updating the Test Environment for Mailers (TEM) on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon CT and TEM will be unavailable during that update period.

PRC Approves 2018 Price Adjustments

The United States Postal Service® (USPS®) filed a case back in October with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) for a proposed price adjustment for all classes of mail. This price adjustment, if approved by the PRC, will be implemented on January 21, 2018. The PRC issued a notification that it has approved the proposed price changes for both competitive products and for the market dominant (non-competitive) products.

USPS Proposes Move Update Price Change

The United States Postal Service® (USPS®) filed a request with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) on June 30, 2017, for Move Update price and classification changes. The proposed implementation date for these changes is January 21, 2018. The proposal would increase the Move Update postage assessment for non-compliance from $0.07 to $0.08 per piece, change the Move Update verification method, correct erroneous information subjecting USPS Marketing Parcels to the Move Update requirement, and extend Full-Service® Address Change Service (ACS) to certain non-Full-Service mailpieces.

Assessments for eInduction Program to begin in May

The United States Postal Service (USPS) announced at the recent Mailers Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC) meetings that assessments for errors above published thresholds for eInduction mailings will begin in May 2017. The assessments will be based on April 2017 mailing data, and the invoice reports will be issued on May 11, 2017. The assessment process will mirror the process currently in place for the Full-Service® assessments.

PostalOne! Mandatory Software Update

The United States Postal Service® (USPS® ) issued a mandatory software update for the PostalOne! production system. This update was implemented on Sunday, August 14, 2016. PostalOne! updated the Test Environment for Mailers (TEM) on Monday, August 15, 2016, from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm CT. The TEM environment will not be available during this time. The new Mail.dat® client download for the Production Environment will be version 44.0.0.0_PROD; all previous versions of the Mail.dat client will expire.
